Psychotron - Chaos Cosmic Time
From southwest German Swabia PSYCHOTRON are hailing and I have to say that I have been really positively surprised by "Chaos Cosmic Time". Vocalist Matze Morbitzer doesn't sound too convincing with his voice being too monotonous and unspectacular, but good singers don't grow on trees and the foundation is there, as with "Waiting For Last Summer".

Musically I would describe the sound as "speedy Power Metal", roughly comparable with PARADOX and the long-gone VENDETTA (remember "Go And Live..."). In the song-writing-process they put great emphasis on variety and (relative) originality, without getting lost in too complex passages. Also absolutely worth mentioning is the very professional performance by the two guitarists Matze Braun and Andi Kostandaras. A very dense guitar-sound, expertly used riffs and lightning-fast solos en masse, yet always with much melody to them.

So who already like the new PARADOX, cannot do much wrong with PSYCHOTRON. Oh yes, the price for one CD (incl. P&P) is DM 20,--.
