Fear Thy Name - I-The Awakening
Portugal more and more grows into a very diverse Metal-nation. After having reviewed a whole bunch of Portuguese bands, FEAR THY NAME are the next one to arrive from Lusitania, Death Metal being their trade.

It is a pretty melodic kind of Death, but neither from the Swedish nor the more Gothic-induced school, but rather a more or less traditional kind, with keyboards, a good bunch of melodies and pretty harsh Death Metal-vocals. I know, not exactly the most original sounding description, but hey, even in this one there are many highly interesting and good bands, which FEAR THY NAME, although, do not belong to...yet.

The potential without a doubt is there and the five folks are young, so as "I - The Awakening" is their first release, I am sure that with a bit of time and some experience to work with, FEAR THY NAME should definitely get somewhere interesting, indeed! (Online December 26, 2002)
