Ok, let's do some association game again, shall we? Alright. Band name MADE OF IRON. The font quite close to the one of IRON MAIDEN. On the back cover two of the four musicians with IRON MAIDEN shirts. The contact email is firstname.lastname@example.org. So what can we expect as the band's sound? Exactly, traditional Heavy Metal with a quite big IRON MAIDEN touch.
These four folks have fully embraced Steve Harris' band and sound, complete with dominant bass, melodic guitar leads and an also pretty MAIDEN-y drumsound. So originality is not really the biggest asset of MADE OF IRON. But that does in no way mean that their self titled debut demo is in any way bad, no, no, vocalist Jim has a really good voice that fits the sound very well and just needs a bit of fine tuning to get into the higher league, the play of the band is just as good.
The sound is maybe a little thin in terms of guitars, which are a bit too far in the background, but they still are audible, so no big deal. The songs all are straight and melodic and should appeal to every MAIDEN fan that can deal with another band having a similar sound. The title track has absolute hymn potential and shows the band's potential. (Online January 28, 2003)
