Borknagar - Quintessence
Who would have thought that the band around guitarist and mastermind Řystein G. Brun would grow so much from their debut on.

Well, in the mean-time they have reached number four and "Quintessence" is just that from the past albums. Cold Black Metal meets warm keyboard-melodies, fast rhythm walks along a considerable amount of Nordic folklore and vocalist Simen offers the whole spectrum between Black Metallic-croaking and his highly interesting clear voice.

From these diverse influences BORKNAGAR have forged their very own sound that makes them stand out from the countless other bands within their genre.

Who never has heard anything from the Norwegians should try out "Rivalry Of Phantoms" for the Black Metal-part, "Colossus", which is borne by Simen's clear voice and the very varied "Revolt".

An out-of-the-ordinary album of one of Norway's leading bands.
