Hectorite - Subliminal Torment
Founded in the year 2000 HECTORITE already have the two demos "Insano Technimetal" (2001) and "Nocturnal Metempsychosis" (2002) and now this EP titled "Subliminal Torment" under their belt. And the Swedes are on the musically highest level of the band history with the four new songs. "Vengeance", "Void", "Prophecy" and "Sacred Technology" are brutal and damn dangerously technical neck shots of the highest ranks.

Although the new material is attacking you in a very modern way, comparisons to Nu-Metal are completely out the window. They rather could feel comfortable in the vicinity of MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, CARNAL FORGE or much missed AT THE GATES. The production of "Subliminal Torment" is great and leaves nothing to be desired, which very much caters to the technical abilities of the five musicians and gives their compositions the strength that this kind of sound imperatively needs.

It would be a big surprise, if this band would not be covered with offers of quite some labels soon. Interested folks should try to get this 4-tracker and knock on HECTORITE's door to order "Subliminal Torment". (Online July 29, 2003)
