Band History - FragileHollow (Online June 2003)

FragileHollow

As PROPHET, it took us 5 years and 5 demos to attract fans, get a deal and finalize this great line-up. The driving force pushing the band forward was the last demo we made entitled "Broken Promise". Reviews of "Broken Promise" have been praising and we were given a chance to reach larger markets via releasing licensed copies of the old MCDs through other labels.

"Broken Promise"
We decided to make the release in DIGIPAK format although it was very expensive as none of us were working on a permanent basis. After promotion, it took about 6 months for labels to make contact. Some of 'em provoking us and some of 'em saying sweet nothings such as "great demo, guys". We were approached with a deal from My Kingdom Music and just before signing we received a more suitable one from Avantgarde Music. Furthermore, a license deal was made to cover former USSR territory. Finally something good had happened to us. Now, a year later, another proposition has been made to publish the entire PROPHET history in two special edition CDs with enhanced booklets, complete with band history and lyrics.

"Broken Promise" sold out. By this time, we'd changed our name to FRAGILEHOLLOW and had a vision as to how the upcoming debut should sound like.

Soon after "Effete Mind" was recorded, we decided to find a new drummer and a bass player to the band. Fortunately for us, we found the guys (Make & Teo) from our own circle of friends. The way it all happened felt like fate had something to do with it. The band sounded fabulous. As we played our first gig with this line-up at a local club about four months ago, it was clear from the act that we'd gone even more towards rock. Since then we've found a second guitarist (Harri) for the band, and it was as if the last piece of the puzzle was being put in. He'd already played for 10 years together with Teo and Make and you must know what that means. They play great together, which is a relief. He truly brings his touch to the sound and knows the things that are important in the songs. We've done shows with this current line-up, and each consecutive gig has been better than the one before.
