During the summer of 2000 Bob went to work in America for 3 months during which the rest of the band concentrated on writing material. After a few practices the band asked friend Tom Shiel to join on Bass. After more rehearsals the band played their first gig as SLAVE ZERO on the 27th October 2000 at Cleeres Pub Kilkenny. It was a benefit concert for the O'Neill centre for disabled children. The band played 3 songs 2 originals i.e "Once Was Human" and "Soldiers Fortune" and 1 cover of "Back From The Dead" (by DEATH). The gig went well and the band continued to play around Kilkenny getting other bands from around the country to come to Kilkenny and play with them.
