The opener alone, called "Merseburger Zaubersprüche", is a gem for itself with its incredibly dark atmosphere and the IN EXTREMO-proclamation. Besides authentic stuff, like Swedish folklore ("Herr Mannelig", "Vänner och Frände") or Spanish songs ("Santa Maria") you now also can find the band's own compositions which cannot be distincted from the original songs, sounding as if they, too, had been written in that time long past.

Future live-classics like "Werd ich am Galgen hochgezogen", "Spielmannsfluch" or the band-hymn "Ini Extremo" HAVE to be listened to and the SISTERS OF MERCY-cover-version of "This Corrosion" will bring the band even more recognition, as it has been "middle-aged" by the band.

"Verehrt und angespien" for sure has a very special position and has to be viewed as one of the most important and best albums of the year 1999!
