It's extremely hard to find Metal bands in my area and even harder to find ones that are actually worth listening to. So, you can imagine my excitement when I first heard about IMAGE. Those who know me, know I'm a sucker for 70's - 80's Metal and I guess you could say that's a big part of why I was drawn to this band.

IMAGE have been rockin' out with the rest of the metal world since 1976. They definitely go the extra mile when it comes to hard work and dedication. I will be the first to admit that it's extremely hard to make it in places like Memphis TN. So, Metal craving residents have to work twice as hard to accomplish their goals and make their dreams come true through their music.

Stand out tracks on this album (for me) included "Tyrant", "Loser", "Dream" and "Sibling". There are A LOT of great riffs on this album, not to mention superb drumming techniques as well. The vocals, well, they're top notch for their sound. These guys really mesh well together.

I don't really know what to say as far as describing IMAGE's sound. I think their guitarist Brian Primm said it best when he said "IMAGE is just IMAGE." If you're a fan of 70s - 80's Metal like myself, then you'll probably be into this.

On a side note:
I had the privilege of sitting down and talking a bit with the guys from IMAGE and I'd like to thank them for inviting me over to Rock out with them. I had a blast and you guys are great! Sadly, their vocalist was sick, so I didn't get a chance to meet him. Maybe next time! I'll definitely be coming back to see you guys soon.

So take a little time to check out IMAGE. If you like what you hear, be sure to check back here at the Metal Observer for an interview with them that will be posted soon! (Online January 21, 2004)
