Megadeth - Countdown To Extinction
Most people will compare this CD to METALLICA's self-titled CD, the one that made them "popular". Hearing something like that really would make you want to stay away from this CD.

Nothing could be further from the truth. In my opinion this is MEGADETH's greatest CD. Mustaine's voice evolved since their "Rust In Peace", it sounds much better in my opinion. The songs on this CD are all different from one another, but somehow sound great together. There are slower songs such as "This Was My Life" and "Countdown To Extinction", but then there are faster songs such as "High Speed Dirt" (strange song if you read the lyrics). The song "Sweating Bullets" stands out in particular, not because it is the greatest (I'd say "Countdown To Extinction" is the best on the CD), but because of the lyrics. Mustaine is singing to himself in this song, sort of a split personality psychotic type thing. Hello me it's me again. . .

The highlights of this CD are "Skin O' My Teeth", "Symphony Of Destruction", "This Was My Life", "High Speed Dirt" and "Psychotron". What the hell, every song on this CD is great except for "Ashes In Your Mouth". I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the CD. It isn't really a bad song, but not really good enough to be on this CD. Only a fool would leave this CD out of their collection. This is a must-own CD, a classic. Go out and buy it now or else. . .I'll do something so evil and mean, well you really don't want to know what I will do.

"Just like the Pied Piper, led rats through the streets. We dance like the marionettes, swaying to the Symphony. . . Of Destruction"
