You love weird riffs, sick, perverse thrashing, can do without catchiness and melodies, as long as the music is really off one’s trolley? You could imagine the fiercest mix from CARCASS’ “Symphonies Of Sickness“ and NASTY SAVAGE’s “Penetration Point“? Then the first and only album of Finnish DEMILICH is the perfect thing for you sick dogs.
“Nespithe“, so the title, is so extreme in almost every way that it almost hurts. Murderously brutal, mostly mid paced, interspersed with short speed attacks and with several damn complex riffs, which lets bands like WATCHTOWER or MEKONG DELTA look like mainstream bands. Plus a garglegrunt, who even lets the trolls from BROKEN HOPE and SUFFOCATION sound like Britney Spears.
And was the album not already torment, the CD even has the old demo as encore. This ear slaughter originally has been released via Necropolis in 1993 and then got re-released on Repulse Records three years later. The demo song “Embalmed Beauty Sleep“ even had been covered by German Death Metallers FLESHCRAWL!
“Nespithe“ really only is digestible for the most whacked out Deathsters!!! (Online March 5, 2004)
