Enraged - Presence Of Fear

Iím not what you could call a ďThrash Metal connoisseur.Ē I have an appreciation and respect for many of the founding bands in the Bay Area as well as the German scene, but outside of that I never really paid much interest to the second tier bands, or bands from other regions for that matter. But I know what I like and this, this I like.

The album will make any Thrash Metal fan headbang with glee; it has everything. With more hooks than Hellraiser movie, great melodies and vocals, the only real thing I can think to complain about is the lack of originality, as some of their influences shine through bright an clear, even to someone like myself, who isnít that well versed in Thrash Metal. Honestly though, for music this good, itís a very minor complaint.

ENRAGED have given me a much needed wake up call and have encouraged me to not only be anxious for their next release, but theyíve made me realize that Iím probably missing out quite a bit on a genre that Iíve ignored for too long. (Online March 21, 2004)
