After a five years break, GRIP INC. are back with the album “Incorporated”. I have to say, they’re stronger as ever before! They are much more diversified and sophisticated in terms of songwriting without to overcharge the listener. Singer Gus is on his peak and he proves that he can do more than just punky shouts. The varied songs surprise with flamenco guitars, electro sounds, orchestra sounds and complex, almost progressive song structures. To add is the extraordinary drumming of Dave Lombardo... unbelievable, that performance of this man. And mastermind Waldemar Sorychta, who is already composer, engineer and producer in one person, provides a riff storminess with his six strings and besides that, he also plays the keys – as there wouldn’t be something easier.
This is how progressive Thrash Metal (?) has to sound to. Absolute timeless songs, you will still love in a few years. I had never expected such a strong record as the last one somehow missed that final kick. This album is full of surprises. Great music of great musicians – incredible!
Bonus of the CD: three (!) videos, one making-of. (Online April 8, 2004)
