ChaosBreed - Unleashed Carnage

BLOODBATH is to Sweden as CHAOS BREED is to Finland. Yep! That's right folks! What we have here is another super group that is playing traditional Death Metal with next to no melodies and is true to the Scandinavian style of the 1990's. Talk about a super group of epic proportions. This mini CD contains Nalle (ex-GANDALF), Olli (MANNHAI), Marko (MOONSORROW), Esa (AMORPHIS) and Taneli (THE BLACK LEAGUE).

This is music to pummel your senses in every way possible. 'Wretched Life' will remind you very much of old ENTOMBED. The guitar riffs are raw, the vokills are brutal as sin and the drums are being attacked like there was tomorrow. Harsh, fast and punishing is the way to go here. “Rotting Alive” is still hard and heavy, but they add tons of sluggish riffs just to make your life that much more miserable. Death Metal grooves and catchy riffs come your way on “F/C/D/C”. This one will have you moshing till the end. The music over all here is short which is good because a full length is on the way. The song structure is very simple, so you won't get bored by over technical musicianship.

It's just short and to the point just like it was back in the 90's. This is just a small taste of what is to come. I just hope that they continue in this direction and make more music. There is enough melodic Death Metal out there. It's time for some old school Death Metal. (Online April 8, 2004)
