Freternia - Warchants & Fairytales
In the year 2000, almost at the same time as the debut of their countrymen PERSUADER, FRETERNIA released their first album "Warchants & Fairytales" over the now bankrupt label Loud'n'Proud. Some might still know these two bands from the previously released split-CD.

FRETERNIA, surprise!, have turned toward the Melodic Power Metal, but without making the mistake of leaning to much towards the HAMMERFALLs and STRATOVARIUS', the "Happy"-share is a lot lower and the voice, too, differs nicely.

Often it gets quite fast, yet without falling into uniformity, the tempo is well varied and well arranged choirs add just the right bit of bombast to the songs without getting sappy or pathetic, the guitars are crunching, the mixture is just right!

Listen to "Worst Of Enemies", "Mistress Of The Deep Black Sea" or "Guardians Of The Night" and hear for yourselves. Only the production cannot keep up with this, at times it sounds too bass-laden and a little muddy, but the quality of the song-material more than makes up for this flaw.

A good debut that basically leaves only one question open: How will FRETERNIA cope with the demise of their label?
