Neronia - Nerotica

When I saw this CD come in the mail I must admit I was intrigued because of the album cover. Prior to putting it into my stereo I thought I would go to their website to see what I was in store for. When I saw yet another German Progressive Rock band I assumed that I would be in store for the same thing that I have heard before.

Boys and Girls, I was wrong. This is a very unique band. Crossing the old stylings of some 70’s musical acts like STYX and MEAT LOAF with the new guitar and sounds of the 90’s American Rock I was in for a great listen. NERONIA definitely has what it takes to make it in any market, all material on the CD is strong enough that it could be placed on any bill in any concert setting. They offer enough to all music tastes that I could see them perform anywhere. They music is definitely radio playable with catchy hooks and strong lyrics and being performed by a strong voice in Falk Ullmann.

A few of the songs on the CD that stand out are “Fast Way”, “Snow Angels”, “Feeling Blue”. All songs make me reminisce of a time when song writing actually meant something instead of piling out nonsense to prove that the single is worth listening to. If you are looking for something not really original but refreshing check out this CD, you won’t be disappointed. (Online April 28, 2004)
