Feinstein - Third Wish

A new THE RODS CD, or what? No way, “Third Wish” is the solo project of RODS leader David Feinstein. This is traditional Metal/Heavy Rock with strong 80s hints. The vocals handles David not himself, it’s John West (ROYAL HUNT) and he does a good job. His singing is much better than the vocals of the maestro... whereby, when I think of “Wild Dogs” or of the best THE RODS album “Let Them Eat Metal”...

Who cares, FEINSTEIN has not much to do with THE RODS. It’s more melodic Hard Rock a la RAINBOW, straight, sometimes more epic, sometimes more bluesy but always on a high level to not disappoint any old THE RODS fan. Personally, I like this album very much, although one or two songs aren’t that great at all, but all in all it’s strong material with the nine minutes lasting titletrack as the peak of the album.
