KARDIA comes to life in January 2001, from the ashes of a previous band (THE ASTROLABE). Three out of four of the current line-up (Paolo, Alessandro, Pietro) played in that band for more than three years achieving the possibility of developing a firm affinity in creativity (that later quickly involved the newcomer Daniele)

The sound of the band is characterised by dark sounds standing out of evocative atmospheres  (emphasised by introspective lyrics) and cadenced rhythms (in a continuous research of fragmentariness as an involving element); a heterogeneous musical path, where one can always perceive continuity.

Talking about music influences we can name such bands as BAUHAUS, JOY DIVISION, THE CURE, early LITFIBA, RAMMSTEIN, whose teachings metal with latent hardcore tendencies. Their first demo was positively reviewed by many music magazines as Flash!, Ritual and RockExpress (Serbia); KARDIA takes part in the compilations “Mostra i muscoli della musica”

("Show the muscles of music!")(distributed by DISCHI ACQUED8) and Italian Experiences III (produced and distributed by Path Of Experiences Records). Many Italian Radio networks broadcast KARDIA's music (RadioRock, Radio Città Aperta, Radio Città Futura, Radio Popolate Torino; interviewed on Radio Popolare Verona and Radio Galileo-Terni) sometimes, hardly up to now, appeared on TV (RockTV), KARDIA are integral and active part of the roman underground scene with a growing number of live exhibitions. They actively take part to the association known as Polyester (independent roman co-ordination of music realities – info: www.polyesteronline.it).

KARDIA's first self produced official album “Frammenti di Violenza Controllata” was released in December 2002.

Now is available the new release “PromoSottile ‘04”.
