Coalesce - Give Them Rope She Said v2.0

I was introduced to COALESCE as I believe most Metalheads were, through their brief stint with Relapse Records when they released the punishing “012: Revolution In Just Listening” and I’ve been hooked on the band ever since, or at the very least, on that disc. I had been meaning to check out more of their stuff as time went on, but I never quite got around to it, with the exception of a few EPs here and there. Well, now I’ve finally gotten “Give Them Rope She Said v2.0” a re-issue of their debut “Give Them Rope” with a re-mastering and new artwork.

Any worries I might have had about their early material were immediately washed away, as their debut is just as crushing as their swansong. Each track is a ferocious blend of brutal Hardcore and vicious Metal. An abundance of groovy riffs are found all over this thing, making it incredibly infectious.

I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to try and get some more COALESCE. Don’t make the same mistake I did and get this right away. (Online June 16, 2004)
