Destinity - In Excelsis Dementia

Well, maybe my 7 points with the "Under The Smell Of Chaos“ album of French DESTINITY were a bit too much, as their latest clot of hate is indeed more brutal but not really more exciting. The Death portion was increased, which basically has to be noted positively. However the songs aren’t so catchy anymore. I can’t help it, but the new material passes me…

Single passages make me listen attentively for a short time but then I yawn again. Heard everything for a thousand times. Nothing there that hasn’t already been done better by CRADLE or DIMMU… DESTINITY don’t blow anybody away anymore with their Symphonic Black, with all understanding for their efforts. Sorry, but I’m missing the last kick there. Somehow I have listened to this genre to death… (Online June 26, 2004)
