Van Halen - Balance

Yet another CD that has come from the VAN HALEN camp and I’m starting to become a little disappointed. It took 4 years for Eddie and the boys to release this one and seemingly the only notable songs on the entire CD is “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, “Don’t Tell Me” and “Seventh Seal”.

Could VAN HALEN BE slowly heading out the door to allow for other acts to take their spot that they have been riding on for decades? When I listened to this CD I was reminded of so many CDs that I have had to sift through in order to find the one or two songs that completely kick ass. In this one they were safely placed at the beginning.

As a heads up this was the last CD that Sammy Hagar was ever going to perform on. If you are a big VAN HALEN fan then this CD needs to be in your collection just on principal alone. However, this is one of the more uneventful CDs I have heard in a while.

Is this the end? (Online July 1, 2004)
