Band History - Kill, The (Online July 2004)

The Kill

THE KILL was born from the ashes of OPEN WOUND in the summer of a new millennium. With Roby on guitar and Jay on drums together they discovered the Geelong Red Neck, Neil. Former UNDINISM vocalist now screaming abuse, once again to take part in an outright onslaught Grindcore assault.

After grinding for a year, we recorded 11 tracks for a demo. Which was released by Dave, No Escape Records. This cassette was limited to 100 copies. We then used the same tracks on 2 separate split EP's. The first 7 tracks taken from the demo were released by Andy, Mortville Records, on a split 7" EP with, RETALIATION (SWE). 700 copies pressed. The last 4 tracks taken from the demo were released by Daniel, Dry Retch Records, on a 4-way split 7" EP with DAHMER (CAN), NEEDFUL THINGS (CZECH) & LUCIFER LARYNX (USA). 1000 copies pressed.

Approximately one moth later THE Kill died, due to Jay leaving the band. 11 months later, he than decided to reunite the blast unit and continue to thrash with THE KILL once again. After playing many shows throughout Australia with local, interstate and overseas bands, we recorded 14 more tracks at a friends place, for a slab of beer.

THE KILL then parted with Neil. After a few weeks rest we some how managed to get Tony from BLOOD DUSTER to take on his roll in the band. We had many jams & were ready to complete the recording.

But! Once again, Jay had decided to leave THE KILL for the second and last time...So now THE KILL are DEAD!

Left with 14 tracks recorded for the MCD on No Escape Records. 12 of those tracks will be split and shared for two separate split 7” EP's with both BIRDFLESH (SWE) on Regurgitated Semen Records & REGURGITATE (SWE) on Bad People Records.
