BEGODDEN MISTS are a four-piece band based in the North London/Hertfordshire area and have been active since late 2002 with Dave and Jon playing acoustically. After a few months of acoustic gigs and good feedback, they decided to try to turn it into a full electric band. The band consists of Dave (guitar and vocals), Jon (guitars), Wade (drums), Max (keyboards) and Michael (bass). After a year, Jon left.

The band’s sound or style could be loosely described as Heavy Progressive Rock with a strong gothic influence in terms of lyricism and image. However, as a band we are always trying to progress in different directions as our musical influences as individuals differ greatly. To stick to one rigid style of music is not our aim.

Bands we cite as influential and inspirational include ANATHEMA, KATATONIA, MARILLION, OZRIC TENTACLES, MY DYING BRIDE, EMPEROR, BLACK SABBATH, OPETH, PORCUPINE TREE and NEW MODEL ARMY.

Over the last twelve months we have played many gigs in our local area and have on occasion, travelled up to the Midlands. These local gigs have helped build up a small but loyal fan base which keeps increasing each time we play. Our name has also become established within the local Metal/Alternative music scene.

During the last year we have released a string of self-produced CDs, which have been given away at gigs. We are currently in the middle of recording our latest EP, which will benefit from a good quality studio production and professional packaging.

As a band looking to the future, we plan to diversify our sound more using different instruments and experimenting with song arrangement. Upon release, our new CD will also be sent out to small labels and any interested parties in the hope that we may get some interest from the right people. Writing new material and playing live is always an ongoing thing for BEGODDEN MISTS as we see this to be the most important aspect of being an active band.
