My Ruin - A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish

As you all know I am a loyal listener of Prog and Power Metal. However, MY RUINís CD came across my desk yesterday and I couldnít help but throw it in. I have to say I was really surprised; MY RUIN doesnít have what I would call a unique sound but a good sound nevertheless.

With dark lyrics and even darker sounding guitars (tuned down to C) this CD sets a tone of morbid anguish and despair. Tairrie B has one of the heaviest voices I have heard in a while. Being Canadian I am forced to think of a similar sounding band from up here named KITTIE that shares that throaty growl that Tairrie.

This actually is one their older CDs being released a couple of years ago but re-released this year on the label Snapper Music. Thick guitar, thumping bass and a sexy growly voice leading this pack you cannot go wrong, and although there hasnít been any recently released by MY RUIN, this CD Is worth listening to with great hopes for something new.
