Let Me Dream - Soulshine

Finnish band LET ME DREAM has already toured through our country several times. They’ve already released two albums, this is the third disc with the name “Soulshine”. Somehow the band sounds typically finnish. The foundation consists of folky Gothic Metal and the screamy vocals are reminiscent of compatriots like CHILDREN OF BODOM or FEARER. They often paste their sound thoroughly with keyboards, but there’s enough scope offered to the great guitars. The musical ideas just pour out, I find the drum sound somewhat strange however. Sounds like computer to me, which does take away quite some power.

LET ME DREAM have their strongest moments on "Domain Of Despair“ which is accompanied by great violin or cello and spreads an irresistible flair. But the closing track, “Autumn Twilight”, is a melancholic masterpiece, too, which would also fit with a band like LAKE OF TEARS, it’s very impressive…The doomy “Babel” is excitingly arranged and one of my faves on “Soulshine” as well.

It should also been mentioned that the album cover was done by finnish artist Jan “Örkki” Yrlund and that it would also fit with a band like NIGHTWISH stylistically…Furthermore, with this album you get a piece of finnish music that has rarity value, because this edition of the album will only be released in Finland.

To get the disc nevertheless, just send an e-mail with the subject "Order Soulshine“ to For only 15 Euro, shipping costs included,  the album is sent to you freshly pressed directly from Finland (as long as it’s in stock). (Online August 24, 2004)
