Holy shit, what a hate slab!!! CATARACT are from Switzerland and they are basically a Metal-Hardcore hybrid of HATEBREED, SLAYER and AT THE GATES. And I can tell you, the third album rips so much that it is impossible to sit here calmly. Actually I’m not that much into aggro music like this, but this is damn cool, superb riffs, a tight production and moshy parts until you go crazy.

There’s still enough Metal in it, so that an old idiot like me can still spit out his “Hell yes”, too! Recently A PERFECT MURDER caught my attention and now CATARACT…I’m not going to mutate to a Hardcore freak in my dotage, am I…? Everything sucks, quite right, and there are no knights and dragons anymore – I got that…Cool, fat shit here! (Online September 8, 2004)
