What the hell is going on with the old Sweden-heros? After some rather mediocre albums, DISMEMBER are the first to strike thoroughly with “Where Ironcrosses Grow”, then UNLEASHED hit me over the head with the best album since the debut, and now, GRAVE follow with ‘Fiendish Regression’. Here the band presents its strongest side. Since “Into The Grave”, no album had been that homogeneous, to the point and precisely deadly. Although principally nothing was changed stylistically – GRAVE are still old school as fuck and immediately recognizable, it is just the songs that have been produced somewhat more groovy and better. You mustn’t expect innovations here, but after all nobody wants that.

The old swordsmen are back and give the boring Melodic Deathers a good dressing down. Sverige Old School Death rules! (Online September 12, 2004)
