When I began to look up information on FLESHCRAWL, I was extremely startled to learn that these guys have been concocting some of the sickest, old school Death Metal for over a decade! Their latest release, “Made Of Flesh” clearly shows that they have no intentions of stopping their reign of terror anytime in the immediate future.
There honestly wasn’t a single track on this album that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Highlight tracks include “Beneath A Dying Sun”, “Flesh Bloody Flesh” and “Demons Of The Dead”. Solid guitars, great riffs and tight drum work. Put all of that together with one sick Death Metal vocalist and you’ve described a major part of this album.
The thing that enticed me the most about this album was the guitar work and vocals. The guitars are extremely well done. They may not be very complicated, but they still make for a lasting impression after each listening session. The vocals, I’d love to hear them in a live setting. They’re actually the missing piece to FLESHCRAWL’s puzzle in my opinion. No other vocalist could fit quite as well.
“Made Of Flesh” definitely deserves any Death Metal fan’s time. Whether this is your first time stumbling onto FLESHCRAWL, or you’re a long time fan, you’re in for a killer 40 minutes when you listen to this album. (Online September 21, 2004)
