SkinKrawl - Demo

From the same state that gave you DOWN and CROWBAR, I now introduce SKINKRAWL. This demo was sent to me out of the blue sky, but hey, I'll give it a whirl, right? All I can say is that this is some ugly and straight up evil shit. The vocals are filled with screams that sound like they are begging for mercy. The music is equally harsh. The drums just pound away and the guitars are really in your face.

You will get a better ides when you listen to “Emotional Suspended Animation.“ The voice is what I would like to consider a male version of Karen Crisis. Musically this is intense. But then again, when you hear the concept for “ESA“ in which a girl is drugged and raped, you would be an emotional mess as well. “Eternity Purified“ sounds a tad bit like KORN thanks to Jay's voice and the rhythm section, but it's more raw and definitely unpolished. “Preconceived“ which closes this demo is one ride on the emotional rollercoaster. The voice ranges go all over the place from evil to melancholy to emo and beyond. It's very depressing and once you read the lyrics you will think the same way as well.

I really don't enjoy this music unless it has something that catches my ear like good hooks, but if you are one of those who still likes to feel sorry for yourself and want to wallow in your depression, then get a hold of this CD. (Online September 25, 2004)
