BOON are from nice Austria and were formed in 1998. The band can already show live performances with bands like CLAWFINGER, FARMER BOYS, KNORKATOR, IN EXTREMO or EMIL BULLS.

Stylistically things are very modern, nothing for fans of the old school. Brutish and groovy, with a thorough pinch of melody and lots of energy. If girls tear the clothes off their bodies (yearn) or men break their necks while banging, I don’t know. At least I have heard far worse stuff. There are always hit-like hooks and choruses to hear and if they were Americans instead of Austrians, or Finns, the labels would scramble for BOON.

To be honest: BOON don’t exactly play my preferred stylistic direction, but what they do, they do competently. A reviewer who loves bands like PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD or FARMER BOYS should get this, he certainly knows better what to do with it. Nevertheless: respect! (Online November 4, 2004)
