Not just "only" another Gothic Metal-album is the new record of Italian DAKRUA. OK, I don't know their debut "Inner Wastelands", don't know, if they have sounded like this before, but what I hear here is quite tasteful.
Beginning with a really good production (Giuseppe Orlando - NOVEMBRE) over mature song-writing that leaves out the usual clichés. Biggest plus and trademark of DAKRUA undoubtedly is front-lady Eva Rondinelli, who has a truly outstanding organ (also other organs). Her roots can rather be found in the Soul-genre, the gal really can sing and set some accents. She is no Metal-queen, but neither is she a whispering Heavenly-Voices-tart. Her voice is quite deep and surely not everybody's cup of tea.
Who likes to listen to bands with female singers and primarily likes THE GATHERING, FLOWING TEARS or ATROX has to get acquainted with DAKRUA. Got curious? Then head out into the nearest CD-shop and listen to "Shifting Memories".
