Although Morgan has almost changed the whole team, you can’t perceive any great changes in the MARDUK sound. Everything has stayed as it was, you get endless amounts of super sonic blast stuff. From time to time you get a doomy track to take a breath or a thundering mid-tempo track before the thrashing attack begins anew.

This sounds negative now but it isn’t really. MARDUK just sound the same every time, no matter who croaks or who handles the shooting gallery. What they are doing is perfect for their genre. The drumming is insanely precise, the riffs accurate, the lyrics deal with death and war (as always)! The word evolution probably doesn’t exist in MARDUK’s vocabulary. But let’s be honest – do we want that at all? Don’t we prefer a well-oiled tank? After all it runs excellently and it leaves scorched earth only (and aching neck muscles!) (Online December 10, 2004)
