Possession - Eternally Haunt

What's this? Like an obscure bastard of NASTY SAVAGE, HALLOWS EVE, MERCYFUL FATE and INFERNÄL MÄJESTY, the Americans POSSESSION arrive and leave nothing but scorched earth behind...This mixture's new to me as well, so: Bon Appetite. Pretty confusing riffs, plenty of tempo changes and crazy turns don't exactly make their performance easily digestible.

Then there's the interplay of shrieking, the lowest growls, clear vocals and KING DIAMOND-esque falsetto interludes, which requires some pretty strong nerves. If you do have 'em you're rewarded with a very harmonious work of art which is indeed a matter of taste but does sound highly original. Occult Metal of the rough variety after all. Old school fans with a soft spot for queer music are going to be amazed! I am, too, and am glad I found this gem. Thanks, Metal-Stefan! (Online April 13, 2005)
