Stories written by life: In my favourite second hand shop I find THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT – “The White Crematorium“ and a few days later I get a promo pack with exactly that album. Well, be it as it may, after their debut “The Apotheosis”, released via Cold Blood Industries, die Dutchmen have been hired by Karmageddon Media. And with their latest epos the guys have produced a Death Metal roundabout.

In terms of aggression and brutality the band leaves 99% of their genre colleagues far behind. I haven’t heard such a fierce disc in a long time. A pure attack, with some intricacies and minimal, but all the more effective variation is the rule! In terms of speed they are close to the border to Grindcore, but is a lot more precise. Only the instrumental “The Haunted Ravines Of Babi Yar” (composed by A J Van Drenth (member of Dutch Doomers BEYOND BELIEF) brings us short relief.

Wo likes the past two BELPHEGOR albums, IMMOLATION’s “Dawn Of Possession“, MORBID ANGEL “Altars Of Madness“ and thrashes to BEHEMOTH or KRISIUN, should get this one. Riff grenades such as “Army Of The Despised” or “Origin” will clean your ears like a cannon ball! (Online May 5, 2005)
