Great, melodic Metal from Russia with a good production reaches my headquarters. Sounds like newer ARIA and the vocals are very emotional and of course Russian, thus most metal freaks will be scared away right from the start. TEATR TENEJ, meaning theatre of shadows, are very popular in their home country and you can hear that they didn’t start making music yesterday.

The spectra goes from epic, balladesque mid-tempo tracks to heavy pounders with a dark note. Even if the songs would be in English, I still couldn’t compare it to any other band. It is traditional, exotic Heavy Rock/Metal with very atmospheric songs and definitely nothing for headbangers or speedies. Recommendation: the band anthem and at the same time most Metal-ish track "театр теней“!!! (Online September 4, 2005)
