Taking patterns from Stanley Kubrick’s classic “2001“ subject-wise, a hard to digest clot of Doom awaits us with MONOLITHE that consists of just one piece with the epic length of 50:27 min. The common scheme of popular music is completely turned on its head, there are no choruses, hooks or even reoccurring themes.

The music creeps along like an epidemic, it quite has appealing moments, but it cannot get hooked in the brain. Thus the spheric Doom with its growls and lava riffs sounds very interesting and intense, but too exhausting in the end, too…Who has the patience to listen to a song for 50 minutes without interrupting it??? Because then it starts anew time an time again…Makes you get mad… (Online September 29, 2005)
