Eisregen - Das Ende Des Weges

“Das Ende Des Weges“ is the second demo of the controversy band EISREGEN from Germany. Paradoxically, on this demo CD there are also all tracks from their first demo-CD. Alike most other Underground bands, EISREGEN had to record their songs themselves. The result is not a first-class sound, but you have to realize that these recordings took place in 1996. I always thought that they will need some time to develop. I would have never thought that their vocalist had always that voice. But he sounds that sick, he must be born with this voice…

Despite the fact that this is a demo and that their lyrics are very controversial, fans loved this work. Some of these songs received a spot on later records in a better quality. And already this demo made obvious that EISREGEN is not a common Black Metal band. The lyrics are aggressively and venomously sung, unfortunately, many of them have been censored. The overly rolled “R” even enhances the aggressiveness of the vocals. The paradox is that the music in the background sounds actually happy, so they really developed their own style. Everybody who doesn’t know this band has to listen to their songs, because there exists no other band, which could be comparable.

This album is a great one for fans of the band, but I would never recommend this to somebody, who wants to check them out because the quality is too poorly. You’ll have to take a regular album and not such a demo. So, this one is only interesting for die-hard fans and I’ll give only six points. But it’s truly a little gem. (Online November 26, 2005)
