Painmuseum - Metal For Life

At the beginning the mightily brutal sound of PAINMUSEUMís "Metal For Life" really appealed to me, but after several listens this magic is long gone. What good is the fattest sound, if the songs donít ignite? Exactly, nothing! Metal Mike Chlasciak (among others HALFORD, CANS, Ö) has good ideas, but he just canít put them together into killer songs yet.

Yes, the band unleashes a brutal thunderstorm, musicians such as Steve Di Giorgio (SADUS, ex ICED EARTH, ex DEATH,...) and Bobby Jarzombek (among others ex JUGGERNAUT) are beyond doubt, but thatís about it. Weak point of the band definitely is singer Tim Clairbone, who roars like Phil Anselmo on a Black Metal warpath and latest after three songs completely goes on your nerves.

Short and painful: You are still searching for a follow up to PANTERAís "Far Beyond Driven"? Then you should get this one! (Online January 5, 2005)
