Maltese Falcon - Metal Rush

“Metal Rush“ by MALTESE FALCON from Denmark certainly is a classic of the old days. The band were close friends with a certain Lars Ulrich (METALLICA), long before he emigrated to America and became a money counter. He also was responsible for the name of the band. Unfortunately the band does not make music anymore today, but Hasse “Hal” Patino should be known to many people, as he plays with KING DIAMOND & FORCE OF EVIL.

Musically you get classic stomping Metal in between ACCEPT, JUDAS PRIEST and old IRON MAIDEN with a very belligerent squaller behind the mic. Not really extraordinary yet nice tunes that still rock decently today…The Metal landscape nowadays should rather dream about songs like “Heavy’N’Loud” or “Metal Rush”. The album is very dirty in sound and should cause all fans of the polished bands of today to vomit. The album has never been released as a Compact Disc to my knowledge…Sad, with basically every shitty disc from the eighties being re-released – what about “Metal Rush”? (Online January 22, 2006)
