Zymosis - Disharmonical Symphony Of Black Dimensions

To set things clear from the very beginning, ZYMOSIS is one of the bands, which since the beginnings of my Metal days, made me laugh the most. I don’t intend to offend anybody in my reviews, but I would like to see somebody who would not burst out in laughter at the sight of the enclosed band photo. The Portuguese thought that since they are playing Black Metal (at least according to their definition, will come back to that later) they have to look accordingly. But it looks like they have followed 14 year old Gothics, rather than their alleged influences („influeNcies“) like CRADLE OF FILTH, EMPEROR, DARKTHRONE and „Dimmuborgir“. Curiously enough, instead of using the traditional corpsepaint, they painted themselves beards, widened eyebrows, even drew highlights on their faces. Thus emerges a “Black Metal band“, which consists of Geroge Michaels, Micheal Jacksons and vampires, on the whole it has a more homosexual than evil appeal. Squinting at the camera seems to them as natural as corpsepaint.

But now we come to the musical part. Here it is enough for me to hear the awful shriek of their frontman. The rest consissts of keyboard-tinkling, which could be used rather for a movie soundtrack than for Black Metal. A few strum accords are not enough for me to find something good on this CD. But they really achieved something with this CD , they made a lot of people laugh. They should give up making music. I gave 2 points cause that photo will definitely bring people to laugh at the next party. (Online January 26, 2006)
