My Dying Bride - Voice Of The Wretched
About time that the finest Doom Metal-band on this planet, MY DYING BRIDE, came around with a live recording. As popularity grows, these albums are inevitable and so it came to be… "Voice Of The Wretched", recorded live in March 2001 in Tilburg, the Netherlands.

Being a Dutchie I'm lucky enough to have set foot in the mighty Metal-temple that is the 013 venue in Tilburg. Carrying an impressive capacity of 2200 people, and featuring the best sound I have ever witnessed this is indeed the perfect stage for the perfect live-record. And well, then there's MY DYING BRIDE. Going strong for about 10 years now, they have, despite many style changes, never lost their spot at nr 1 in Doom Metal and continue to enforce this position with their latest releases. This concert of course took place before the release of their fantastic new studio record "The Dreadful Hours", but woohoo, there is a track from that record on this live album anyway!! Yes, they played "A Cruel Taste Of Winter" as a nice preview… and holy cow, this makes this album the perfect MY DYING BRIDE-compilation!! Ok then, there are no tracks from the debut full-length "As The Flower Withers" on this album, but every other album is represented on "Voice Of The Wretched".

So, they have good songs… CHECK…. Good sound in the venue… CHECK… then you only need a good live performance to have a fantastic album… Did you really think that these guys don't know how to play live? In the last 10 years they have not been picking in their noses between studio album releases (well, at least not all the time). Worthy of the greatness this band truly is, the live performance is as tight as…uhm… well, it's very tight! Good live vocals by Aaron, all my favorite tracks are on the CD, this is a perfect live record!… Am I still talking? And why is this CD not playing anymore, let's press play again. But even worse, are you still reading!!! Hello!! The MY DYING BRIDE Live album is out, go get it NOW!!!
