Delight - The Fading Tale
Finally a band-name which fits: DELIGHT, for listening to their first (?) album "The Fading Tale" is a real delight! Add a great cover (who ever hides behind www.g-r-a-a-l.com is a true master!), a strong sound and what you get is a great album.

The opener and title track blasts me off my chair, cool Gothic/Power/Symphonic Metal, leaned against the best of bands like AFTER FOREVER, NIGHTWISH and EDENBRIDGE, but still independent and strong, hard, melodic, atmospheric and still symphonic, everything crowned by the clear, yet still powerful vocals of front angel Paulina Maslanka, who can take the first class.

And after that DELIGHT also show that they belong to the best what Gothic Metal has to offer nowadays, take "The Gate Of The Green" or "Great Words On The Altars" as two great tracks of a continuously great album, which as additional highlight contains a strong and consistent cover of WHAM's "Careless Whisper", which got a new life and a DELIGHT soul breezed in, cool!

All in all I must attest DELIGHT a great album, which is the strongest piece of this style after the SIRENIA debut, but can't be just limited to Gothic Metal. Buy it! (Online August 18, 2002)
