I don’t know much about EA, so I can only take the music as basis and does it ever speak to me. The number of songs might be deceiving at first, because the playing time of the single tracks is over 10 minutes for each of the three, so that we get almost an hour of playing time. Looking at the atmosphere, this album almost is a masterpiece, because of its always constricting, pressing mood you always shave the feeling that the world is close to drawing its last breaths.
What becomes evident with repeated listens is that the main focus are the instrumental parts, the vocals are pretty rare and among them the sacral sounding chorals are used more often than the aggressive, deep growls, so everything further underlines the vanitas mood of the album.
The single songs also cannot be strictly separated, the whole album rather is one cohesive slab that is divided into three chapters, but that also means that it will take a while to get into the whole thing, with the length of the tracks.
"Ea Taesse" is an album that you need to take time for and even more so have to be in the right mood for. Depending on that you either enjoy the dark Funeral Doom sounds or it will get horribly boring soon, but in any way, shape or form the atmosphere that EA build up here is outstanding.
