From Germany's most prolific Dark Ambient/Black Metal prodigy comes yet another ice-cold album of relaxing mountain-moods. Apparently this album is the remastered version of the soundtrack to the 2007 DVD "Kontemplative Antagonismen des Augenblicks", and comes in the form of one 40-minute long Ambient track.
As ususal Cristoph Ziegler knows exactly what he's doing, and the synth-driven Ambient landscapes are painted with the uttermost precision. We're brought to windy mountaintops, over desolate tundras, and across frozen rivers, and as usual it's a beautiful journey. The only problem is that Ziegler has brought us on this excursion so many times before that it's hard not to grow a little tired of the sights and sounds, and some more variation definitely wouldn't hurt the atmosphere.
"Zeit-Los:Laut-Los" is a brilliant experience if you're prepared to lay back, close your eyes, and let your mind wander off to tranquil arctic wastelands. For all other purposes, the 40-minutes long track is a little too repetitive, and lacks the proper elements to keep your attention from drifting elsewhere. If you like VINTERRIKET's other Ambient recordings, you already know that you're getting top-notch meditative winter-scapes. If you're new to his work, you should probably seek out his more Black Metal-oriented works instead, and it's not like there's a shortage of VINTERRIKET-releases to choose between.
