Still firmly rooted in the Thrash of the past, suddenly a violin popped up here and there, the melodies had a thorough Folk-list and something like this had not been heard before anyway.

"The Sky Beneath My Feet" clearly showed the new mixture at the very beginning. "The Widdershins Jig" then presented a dramatically increased violin-share in its rather slow pace and adjusted to the lyrics with it. That there still was Thrash in the sound of the Britons showed "Our Dying Island" and even more the really heavy "The Cradle Will Fall", while "Moongleam And Meadowsweet" came over mostly acoustic and slow-paced, almost balladesque, and "Terminus" still is one of SKYCLAD's best songs, being very variable in heaviness and moods and anything else.

Back then received rather split, "Wayward Sons Of Mother Earth" was the beginning for one of the most original, best and most interesting (especially from the lyrical side) bands of Metal!
