Holy f**k! CHILDREN OF BODOM have f**king done it again! This is a good f**king example of what a f**king live album should f**king be! Cool f**king packaging too! F**kity f**k f**k!! F**k yeah!!
Ok, maybe that's exaggerating it a little bit, but if you manage to find a copy of this hard-to-get live-album by Finnish group CHILDREN OF BODOM, then be prepared for a little of the above. It seems pretty clear to me that Alexi's mommy had to wash his mouth out with soap a time or two when he was growing up.
If you're among those seeking this album out, then chances are you've already heard CHILDREN OF BODOM's other albums and know what to expect. Black Metal. Death Metal. Power Metal. Atmospheric Metal. Now, you ask: Can they pull it all of live? My answer to that question is a very enthusiastic "YES."
CHILDREN OF BODOM are a very tight band when it comes to giving off a performance in front of an audience. I mean, you can take any band and make them sound good in the studio, but it takes real skill to pull it off live. CHILDREN OF BODOM have the skill required, and then some. Each guitar note, riff, drum beat, and keyboard note are hit perfectly, and can be clearly heard by the listener due to an excellent recording and production. Alexi is simply a guitar-machine. How he does it is beyond me! Vocally, I think he is even better live than on the studio albums.
"Tokyo Warhearts'" tracklisting is a mixture of nine songs from their first two albums. It also includes an instrumental intro and a "War Of Razors" between Alexi and Janne. Hell, they've even added a killer intro to the already-kick-ass "Touch Like Angel Of Death."
If you're a fan of CHILDREN OF BODOM, then you should already have this one in your collection. If you don't already have it, then buy it! It comes packaged in a box with photos from their time in Japan, which is a little something for us fans to enjoy. And if the f**king swearing offends you, turn the f**king sound down when Alexi starts to talk!
