The excellent "Strange Old Brew" has been released exactly one year ago, and as "Morbid Fascination Of Death" has been written and recorded at the same time, we were all becoming impatient and wondering why CARPATHIAN FOREST hadn't released the two albums at the same time.
Now we have the answer! "Morbid Fascination Of Death" has the same morbid spirit as "Strange Old Brew", but it's more 'experimental'. There are some keyboards, some female vocals, and even… saxophone on "Cold Comfort" and "Nostalgia". But don't worry, the music of those insane guys is still very gloomy, unhealthy and hateful; the packaging will once more prove you that they have tortured minds; and tracks like "Carpathian Forest" or "Ghoul" (a MAYHEM-cover) wouldn't have sounded out of place on "Black Shining Leather".
CARPATHIAN FOREST is still one of the strongest values of Black Metal, and they don't seem to be ready to sell their black souls to the gods of money and nice melodies. It's even the opposite!
