Hell, ass and damnation! Could it be any faster without drifting into the total Grindcore mush? Brazilian NEPHASTH return to the public three years after their debut album “Immortal Unholy Triumph“ with their next long player “Conceived By Inhuman Blood“. In the Brazilian Death Metal genre there only seem to be two extremes. Either they orientate themselves on SEPULTURA (and there mostly the “Chaos A.D.“/“Roots Bloody Roots“ era) or they follow on the heels of KRISIUN. And NEPHASTH have taken the latter as inspiration.
Super heavy and fast as hell the guys break through the jungle, leaving a trail of devastation. Damn, this quartet unleashes such an incredibly tornado, damn, how can you play so fast and still precise? And still the CD doesn’t lack breaks and good ideas to loosen up the speed inferno, quite the contrary, there is everything you need not to see the album getting monotonous. Just to completely step off the pedal, that we only get very rarely and even then just for a short time, as for example on “Fear The Truth“.
One instrument always is on full force. Who has some space in the collection between CANNIBAL CORPSE, KRISIUN, VADER, BELPHEGOR and EXTREME NOISE TERROR’s “Being And Nothing“ should check out this album. (Online May 6, 2004)
