The return of the eclectic German Grind-Punk meistros is in the form of an interesting assortment of German covers from the last 25 years. Being unfamiliar with any of the songs I can only guess as to how these compare with the original, but knowing this band I'm going to assume that the focus wasn't so much on sounding like the original, but on maintaining the feel with the actual delivery being their own.
The songs have a heavy and dynamic approach akin to JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE's own material, but this is much more honest and straightforward that allows the real "punk" attitude to shine through. Personally, I feel the band are all the more better for this newly acquired direction as their overcomplication of things can be more than a little frustrating.
While this is not my cup of tea per sé, I can appreciate this for what it is, a short album full of well played songs with a fun vibe that is much more instantaneous than the bands own material. Still, that also makes it more redundant and little more than a filler between albums. (Online February 18, 2006)
