This is Jon Schaffer's new side/solo project, and I must say a damn good one at that. If you can look past the heavy political slant of the lyrics you'll find an awesome Heavy/Power Metal album that somewhat reminiscent of Iced Earth's "Dark Saga". Jon does all the vocals himself, and what a surprisingly solid vocalist he is!

The only snag is that you have to subscribe to the SOL newsletter in order to receive the download link, but it's worth it.

I listened to a few tracks when I first heard about this a few days ago, but haven't really felt like getting the entire album myself. I think I remember hearing the recording being kind of rushed and I think that, for Jon, the project is mainly about spreading a message, but I would be really interested in hearing what people think of this, especially compared to the recent Iced Earth albums (which many have been disappointed with).
